The Adult Guardian is a person who can assist people who have an impaired decision making capacity in protect their rights and interests by;
The Adult Guardian is appointed by either the person with impaired capacity or the Guardianship and Administration Tribunal upon request by a concerned friend, relative or health care provider. If you have reason to believe that a relative, friend or neighbour who is elderly or has a disability is being abused in any way by a friend, relative or carer, you can get assistance through the Elder Abuse Prevention Unit.
